Reference Letter for Customer Location SD48:
...(We have) a four-cell system with six circulators in use.
We have two circulators in each primary and one in each of the
secondary and tirciery cells. Since the installation, (the
city's lagoons have) experienced a dramatic reduction in
ammonia. Our discharge requirements are quite strict and require
discharges to be below one part per million during the summer
months. Prior to installation of the circulators, this level of
treatment was difficult to achieve.
Our most recent discharge in February of 2002, had an average
ammonia of less than six parts per million. The maximum amount
measured during the two-week discharge was slightly over six.
This is quite good considering the iced over conditions of the
ponds during the winter months. Our winter 7-day average limit
is 8.73.
(We are) satisfied with the performance of the circulators
and have received many positive comments on the odor reduction
from the neighboring property owners....
